Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort
Located in the heart of North Carolina’s majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort offers more than 2,000 slot machines, live entertainment, and luxurious accommodations. With a total of over 150,000 square feet of gambling space, it’s the perfect destination for a family vacation or a night on the town.
Harrah’s Cherokee casino is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Guests need to be 21 years old or older to gamble.
The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation owns and operates the Harrah’s properties. They have a goal to reduce the number of rooms and restaurants, while keeping the casino open.
A $275 million expansion project will add 315,158 square feet of casino space and a new hotel tower. It will also include a restaurant and rooftop bar, an indoor pool, and more gaming.
Guests can play blackjack, roulette, slots, and poker at Harrah’s Cherokee. The casino was built in 1997, and it has since expanded.
Emerald Princess Casino
Located on the East River in Brunswick, GA, the Emerald Princess Casino offers guests the chance to win big. This 200-foot vessel offers four decks of gaming, including blackjack, poker, roulette and a craps table. The casino also features a full bar and bistro.
Unlike many of its counterparts, the Emerald Princess Casino does not charge for parking. It is located just a short distance from the Atlantic Ocean, making it a convenient choice for those who want to take in the views while gambling.
The Emerald Princess Casino is the closest casino to Jekyll Island, Georgia’s premier vacation destination. The Carter Family Home, the boyhood farm of former President Jimmy Carter, is just a few miles away. It is also home to Plains High School and the Plains Train Depot. It is also close to the famous Freedom Hall Complex, which includes a slew of exhibits on the Civil Rights Movement.
Although the Emerald Princess Casino is not the largest in the state, it does offer some of the newest games and gadgets. There are two Roulette wheels, several blackjack tables and one of the largest slot machines in the area.
Victory Casino Cruises
Located in the heart of Florida’s renowned gambling mecca, Port Canaveral, Victory Casino Cruises boasts the largest slot machine fleet in the state. Aside from the typical slot machines, the ship offers a number of other gaming options. Some of these include a gondola-style sportsbook, an electronic session, and a high-stakes bingo game.
The Casino Cruise Ship is a swanky 200 foot vessel with more than enough gaming to keep you busy. Aside from slot machines, you’ll also find a high-stakes bingo game, a large sportsbook, and a casino floor with three decks of blackjack. For those who prefer to play on their own, there’s a sports bar and two cocktail lounges.
While you’re there, be sure to check out the Casino Cruise Ship’s signature V Burger. This grilled flour tortilla topped with bacon, cheddar, and scallions is a must-try. In addition to a fine burger, you’ll also have the opportunity to try out other dishes on the menu, including salads and a three-card poker.
Georgia lawmakers are looking into legalizing casino gambling
During the next Georgia legislative session, lawmakers are expected to debate whether casino gambling should be legalized. In the past decade, gaming bills have been discussed and rejected in the state. Some politicians have even expressed a moral objection to casinos.
But a coalition of big-name casino companies are pushing for the legalization of gambling in Georgia. The group includes Caesars Entertainment, Wynn Resorts, Bally’s Corporation, and Penn National Gaming.
If the legislature passes casino gambling legislation, it will have to be approved by voters through a referendum. The vote could take place in November. The referendum question would decide if casinos can be built. The Georgia Constitution requires a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate.
Georgia has historically opposed gambling. Six states currently ban it. However, polls indicate that the public is supportive of casinos. In fact, a survey by the University of Georgia found that casinos were more popular than online sports betting.
A group of lawmakers has proposed a gaming package for the next legislative session. The proposal includes sports wagering, a new casino in Atlanta, and new projects in 358 counties. The total investment would be approximately $5 billion.
